As part of our 2020 vision of quality, PureSpectrum committed to becoming a Diamond-Level Sponsor of the Marketing Research Education Foundation (MREF) in January, and improve the quality of life for people around the world.
Michael McCrary, PureSpectrum’s CEO and Founder, has recently joined the MREF board. He will be donating his time to furthering the MREF mission.
“There are so many families in need today, and together with the MREF and its other generous sponsors, we have an opportunity to lend a helping hand,” Michael said. “Helping families meet their most basic needs in these trying times is essential. I’m thankful for our clients that work with us, because without them, we wouldn’t be able to support the MREF in the manner we do.”
The team had planned on attending a Haiti service trip at the end of April, but this was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of the current global crisis, MREF is refocusing its efforts and has recently launched a fundraiser with Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. Both of these organizations support food banks and contributing organizations to ensure that 22 million children get food outside of school-provided meals.
Over 37 million Americans already live with food insecurity. With the novel Coronavirus forcing quarantines, lost wages and less access to supplies, more families are relying on food banks to ensure they can get enough to eat. MREF is estimating a 25% demand increase in need beyond the already 5.3 billion pounds of food distributed by their organization in 2019.
“For families living paycheck to paycheck, a disruption to work, school and health like COVID-19 can make all the difference between stability and hunger,” MREF said in a statement. “Feeding America is working hard to reach everyone in need.”
Along with Feeding America, Food Banks Canada has launched a $150 million appeal during the pandemic to ensure that they can continue their essential work of delivering food to the communities in need.
“We support a network of Provincial Associations, affiliate food banks, and food agencies that work at the community level to relieve hunger,” MREF noted. “Our work is focused on maximizing collective impact, strengthening local capacity, and reducing the need for food banks.”
