2. How is Incidence Rate (IR) calculated?

Incidence is calculated as a conversion, using the formula (Completes / (Survey Entrants – Quality Terminations)). This conversion calculation most closely reflects how the panels sending to your survey understand project performance.

3. How do I select panels for my survey?

As you enter survey audience qualifications during the set up process, the top right Feasibility and CPI box will populate. PureSpectrum Marketplace offers transparent multi-source supply. View the available panels from the Feasibility drop down for your project before you launch and choose who you want to receive sample from.

PureSpectrum vets all suppliers to ensure a quality marketplace. In addition, PureScore, PureSpectrum’s proprietary respondent scoring system, assures only high-quality respondents get into your surveys.

4. Can I change quotas after my survey has launched?

Yes, PureSpectrum Marketplace allows you to manage projects while in field. Manipulate existing quotas, add, delete and modify quota goals all in one place. Survey management has never been this easy.

5. Can I target by location within a country?

Yes, we offer location targeting options. You can also upload a list of zip or postal codes for more precise fielding and create custom quota groups.

6. How do I set up redirect links for my survey?

Follow the redirect guide found on the “Finalize and Launch” page of the survey set up under “Redirect Links”. You will only need one set of redirects for all Marketplace suppliers.

The PureSpectrum platform removes the need to email with multiple parties, enables you to consolidate quota tracking and instantly communicates changes with all suppliers so you don’t have to reach out to them directly.

7. How do I launch a survey?

After implementing your survey link and redirects, test the project for a successful completed session. Following a successful test, decide if you want to turn on any of PureSpectrum’s special features, and launch. Once you launch the project, the integrated panels that you have selected will immediately start sending based on the audience and quotas that you have set up.

8. How can I conduct a tracking study on Marketplace?

Follow the prompts and launch your first wave. For the next wave, you can simply “Clone” the last survey, and adjust the title, completed interview goal and links as necessary.  Supplier allocations can be controlled to keep consistent blend of panels.

9. Can I recontact respondents?

Yes, you are able to recontact respondents. Reach out to your Account Manager to learn more about setting up recontact surveys.

10. Do you have B2B survey sample?

Yes, you can select from a choice of qualification questions in “Advanced Targeting” to access B2B survey respondents.

11. Is PureSpectrum deduplicating respondents?

Yes. Before a respondent enters your survey, PureSpectrum uses device fingerprinting, fraud detection and PureScore to deliver only real, unique and quality respondents.  You can also deduplicate respondents from prior PureSpectrum surveys by grouping them on the Finalize page.

Brand Trackers

  1. How do I know what my target audience should be?

First, ask yourself who is your ideal consumer or whose opinions/sentiments do you wish to track. This will determine your target audience. A brand tracker typically targets potential buyers/users of your products and services but can also include prospects outside of your ICP in areas that you wish to explore.

The PureSpectrum Insights Platform allows users to easily collect responses from the general population or target respondents based on criteria such as age, gender, shopping behaviors, income, job title, and more.

2. How many people should I be collecting in each wave of the brand tracker?

A lot of this depends on the target audience for your research. For broader consumer groups, we typically recommend 1000+ responses per wave and a minimum of 200 responses from each consumer segment. For more niche target groups, smaller sample sizes are acceptable. For guidance, feel free to reach out to the PureSpectrum team for recommendations.

3. How often should I run my tracker?

You should always start a tracker as soon as possible to understand your brand’s position in the market. Aligning a tracker with marketing campaigns is also common, just be sure to run at least one wave before the campaign begins to establish a baseline.

Trackers can then be run monthly, quarterly, or yearly depending on how often your team needs metrics to make key decisions. The great thing about PureSpectrum’s brand tracker solution is that we offer a customized engagement based on your needs.

4. When am I able to see my tracker’s results?

The PureSpectrum Insights Platform shows users their results in real-time. All responses are cleaned during collection and aggregated in an intuitive dashboard for easy analysis. Data is presented in a charts and graphs format with the ability to filter and compare different variables. The visualizations are instantly exportable as crosstabs or other formats for inclusion in presentations and reports. Just enter an email address to quickly share the dashboard and results with any team member.

5. How do I write a brand tracker survey?

Writing a brand tracker doesn’t have to be a big daunting task. The most important thing in a brand tracker is to determine your KPI’s and develop questions that allow you to measure them. Including behavioral and demographic questions is a best practice to get more insights into your audience and better understand how your brand is performing in the market.  PureSpectrum has an in-house research team available to help you get started.

6. Is running a brand tracker expensive?

It doesn’t have to be! PureSpectrum is the only company that owns its own sample marketplace and survey platform. By combining the industry’s highest quality sample marketplace with a robust survey platform, we’ve allowed users to forgo the third-party markups of the traditional survey platforms and conduct sophisticated brand tracking on a global scale at an affordable price.

7. Does PureSpectrum offer services to support my brand tracking research?

Yes, PureSpectrum offers design consultation, programming, translations, and data analysis to fully support your research.

8. Can I run my brand tracker in multiple countries?

Yes, PureSpectrum provides access to respondents in the top 60 global countries as well as translation services to ensure your questionnaire is localized for each market.

PureSpectrum Data Quality

PureSpectrum uses proprietary methodology and machine learning to ensure reliable insights. To learn more, view additional survey FAQs specific to data quality below:

1. What does PureSpectrum do for Data Quality?

As the Marketplace operator, PureSpectrum has responsibility for the quality of the respondents and surveys made available.  All Marketplace panels are interviewed and vetted before commencing API development.  Before being made available to the full Marketplace, new panels send to select accounts in a probationary period.  All respondents pass through rules based deduplication and fraud checks, contributing to our proprietary screen, PureScore.

2. What is PureScore™?

PureScore™ is a comprehensive, advanced Machine Learning driven, scoring system designed to measure individual survey respondent quality on a scale of 0-10. The model finds patterns in the profiles and behaviors of respondents, and the more a respondent deviates from the ideal, the lower their PureScore™. Every inconsistency is flagged and penalized, decreasing the respondent’s PureScore™.

3. Explain the scale of 0-10.

Respondents with a PureScore™ of 0-5 are prevented from taking surveys on the platform to mitigate the risk of bad data. Those with a score above 5 are allowed to participate in surveys. As respondents display inconsistent behavior, their scores will decrease. Respondents with a PureScore™ of 5 and below have exhibited screening inconsistencies. However, they will still receive opportunities from suppliers to return to the platform and answer questions on the PureSpectrum screener. This allows them to demonstrate consistent behavior and build up their score to back above 5.

4. What deduplication efforts does PureSpectrum take?

By monitoring browser type, operating software, internet connection, device type, and unique respondent ID (PSID), the PureSpectrum system can determine if a respondent already took the survey.

5. Is the score viewable?

No, this score is not visible.

6. Is there an additional cost to use PureScore™?

No. PureScore™ is an added layer of data quality on the PureSpectrum platform included in the sample costs to ensure the quality across all projects.

7. Is this service only available on the PureSpectrum platform?

Yes, a respondent must pass through PureSpectrum to be scored. They must have a unique PureSpectrum ID (PSID) to receive a PureScore™ . It is a PureSpectrum proprietary model to ensure respondent quality and consistency.
